It an acronym of Hope Development Organisation, HODO is a registered community based entity
working in slums of kibra(formerly In Kibera),
Kenya.
Is a Youth dynamic volunteer organization, active on youth education, community empowerment program. A community based, located in Kenya and a non profit
organization that works with the community that resides in Kibra, Kianda slums to
holistic address issues affecting their livelihoods, education, environmental
friendly activities, leadership/governance and peace initiative.
The founding members started the
organization based on a strong conviction to lift the desperate needy community
out from vulnerable, poverty and uniting the community differences that said to
have block peace and development. The organisation is chiefly involved in
initiatives around economic empowerment, leadership, environmental awareness
and child education
The goal
of the organization is to fill the gaps in the community, meaning such areas
where vital support is lacking for local residents. By working with the community
to allow the residents to better help themselves
Hope Development organization is a voluntary, humanitarian, non
profit, non political and a non partisan organization
The organization has legal status and personality; It has the legal
right to sue or to be sued in its own name and generally, subject to this
constitution, capable of doing anything that cooperate bodies may lawfully do

forgotten; offering protection, education, and a family for life.

Background An Organisation working to promote sound social-economic entrepreneurship learning
for marginalized and underprivileged youths, in Kibra. Dedicated
and well motivated Kenyans from
varying professional backgrounds, cultural diversity, religious ethics
found the organisation
way back in 2012, most of them comes from low income/poverty stricken
families, these people shares different but one
experiences in common i.e. the agony & disgrace of poverty, poor
health infrastructures, gender inequality as well as
success through hard work, consistency, linkages and determination. HODO
is an equal opportunity and has neither nor political affiliations in
rendering its services.
HODO works with both local like minded allies in
achieving its aims, objectives and goals in Kibra.
The organisation is registered under The Ministry of Devolution under
Gender,Children& social department.
